On Wednesday, December 22, 1999 a celebration was held at Galapagos (70N6, Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY 11211) to benefit children with Down's Syndrome in Croatia. Festive holiday program included: band performance, DJ, opera singer, dance music, silent auction, sumptuous Croatian specialties and complimentary bar service. Suggested contribution was $30. $1305 was raised for The Croatian Down's Syndrome Association. CDSA was founded in Zagreb in May 1999 for the purpose of providing much needed services for those very special people.
