Dear Miroslav,
I am sending you this message in behalf of the Grass-roots Solidarity Organization SOS Balkanes, from the Basque Country (c/o Spain). One of our projects currently going on is taking place in the city of Gorazde (BiH), consisting on the immediate set up of a public access point for e-mail and internet. This is a project in collaboration with the Colecctif pour la Paix en FY from Bretagne (France). It includes the set up and funding for, initially, a year of free and public phone connection to internet and e-mail. As you know, so far there is not such a service in Gorazde. Our goal is to fill the gap that the city is suffering regarding telematic communications. In our view, the most suitable place to install it, according to recent news from Gorazde, is the cultural center Radnicki Dom, placed in the same building as the Gorazde Radio-TV. The major, Mr. Smajo Bascelija, has been directly informed about this project, during his recent visit (March 13-16) to Donostia (Basque Country). The computer equipment necessary for it, belonging to SOS Balkanes, is currently in Mostar. Components:
The computer equipment will arrive to Gorazde with a group of SOS Balkanes people coming in about a week. Our arrival in Gorazde is planned by MARCH 29, in between 16:00 and 17:00. We will depart from Sarajevo at 14:00 in the regular convoy, with our own bus, in which there are a few free seats. We will stay in Gorazde the evening of 29, and the 30, 31, and April 1st and 2nd.
What we propose to ZTN-Sarajevo in order to setup the telematic system ASAP is as follows:
- - Travel to Gorazde during our stay there of a ZTN specialist able to setup the system and teach initially its operators about the basic functioning.
- - This person should take with him/her to Gorazde the suitable software for installing in the computer and quick start. Additionally, we find necessary to install the hardware in the computer and more precisely in a external modem suitable for 28.800 bps, instead of the current internal of 14.400 bps, of the mark and type that will enable a suitable connection with the ZTN-Sarajevo node, from Gorazde. SOS Balkanes would afford the cost of the trip, eating during the stay and the 28.800 bps modem.
- - The most suitable date for this trip from Sarajevo would be, either the same day of our trip from Sarajevo, departure March 29 at 14:00, or March 31, Monday morning, but always with time enough before our leaving from Gorazde.
Additional information on the project available.
We ask you, urgently, preferably in English and in a 48 hours times, communicate by e-mail the viability of accepting this proposal for your trip from Sarajevo, to:
