Camp on Igman took place during winter school holidays in Bosnia in cooperation with Marija Saric of Wings of Hope - Krila Nade. Thirty kids from both sides of ethnic divide, that suffered unduly during the war, received food, snowboard equipment, instruction, access to the slopes, and a uniquely designed freestyle, learn-to-fly training for 6 days (January 14-19, 2007) at Mt. Igman. EUFOR donated bus that left each morning at 9 am from Zemaljski Muzej in Sarajevo, and returned there at 4 pm. This is the second year of this program. A study is under way that will show participants improved in school success and behavior. Hypothesis is that programs that involve physical risk, such as this, help raise self esteem among the at-risk youth. April 2007 issue of Transworld Snowboarding brings the story of the last years camp written by Tina Basich. Please, check out the gallery of happy children from this years programme.
